Knotless and box braids

Braids built from your own hair outward, worn down, up or pinned. Size is the choice that matters most: it sets the look and the hours.

Who it suits

Anyone whose hair is long enough to braid and who wants a style that lasts through weeks of washing, sleeping and working. Tell us how long you plan to wear it and we will size the parts to match.

Knotless or box

Knotless braids start with your own hair and add braiding hair gradually, so the root is flatter. Box braids start with the added hair at the base of a square part. Your braider will show you both on a section before you choose.

What happens

From the chair to the mirror

The hours are the range for the whole day, with a break whenever you want one.

  1. 01
    30 min

    Step 1: Agree the plan

Size, length, shade and number of packs, set against a photo you bring.

  2. 02
    Up to 1 hour

    Step 2: Prep the hair

Washed, dry and detangled hair starts at once; a wash and blow-dry adds up to an hour.

  3. 03
    2–10 hours

    Step 3: Part and braid

Parts are drawn by hand, then each braid is started and added to, section by section.

  4. 04
    30 min

    Step 4: Finish

Ends are shaped, beads or cuffs go on if you chose them, and aftercare is explained.

What sets the time and the price

Before you pick a size

  • Size of the part

Smaller parts mean more braids and more hours. Large, medium and small are shown side by side on the planner.

  • Finished length

Shoulder length, mid-back and waist or longer each add time, because each braid has more to braid.

  • Your braider's level

A braider's level sets the price as well as the pace. The booking page shows each braider's level before you choose.

Braiding hair is an extension, so how a style sits varies with your hair, your part size and how you wear it.

Questions about this style

Do I need a consultation?

For small knotless and any day over eight hours, yes: a short text or phone conversation. For other sizes you can book straight away.

How long should my hair be?

Long enough to hold a braid at the root, roughly two inches or more. If you are not sure, send a photo before booking.

Can I bring my own braiding hair?

Yes. We tell you the shade and how many packs, and we check them against the plan at the start of the day.

Hold a braid day

Pick your style and length, then choose a day. A deposit holds the chair and goes toward your service.
