Our policies

A long day depends on everyone arriving on time and hair arriving ready. Here is how we handle both.

Booking and deposits

Book on the booking page: choose a style, a size, a length and a braider. A deposit holds your day and goes toward your service. For small knotless and other styles over eight hours, send us a text first so the day is planned before it is held.

Canceling and running late

Please give 48 hours' notice to move a braid day, because a long day is hard to refill. Running late? Call or text as soon as you know. Up to 15 minutes late, we start on time and finish when we finish. Between 15 and 30 minutes late, your braider may suggest smaller parts, a shorter length or fewer braids so the day still ends. After 30 minutes, we move you to another day and your deposit holds it.

If you miss an appointment

If you miss a day without telling us, the deposit stays with the studio and a new day takes a new deposit.

Children and companions

We braid children from age four, with a parent or guardian beside the chair for the whole visit. Long styles on small heads are split into shorter sessions. One friend or family member may sit with an adult client.

Patch tests and allergies

Braiding doesn't need a patch test. If you have reacted to braiding hair, gel or any hair product, tell us when you book, and your braider will plan around it.

Hair you bring, and how to arrive

Arrive with your hair washed, fully dry and detangled, or add a wash and blow-dry to your booking. If your braider asks you to bring braiding hair, we tell you the shade and how many packs. Unsure? Text us a photo of the pack and we'll say yes or no before the day.

If you're not happy

If a braid feels tight or a part looks off, tell us within a few days and we'll make it right. Message us or come in, and a braider will look at it with you.

Tipping

Tips are welcome and never expected. You can add one when you pay, or hand it to your braider.

Running late

If you are late, what happens to the day

Call us on (301) 555-0103 or text (301) 555-0104 as soon as you know. The sooner you tell us, the more of the style we can keep.

  1. 01

Step 1: Up to 15 minutes late

We begin and finish when we finish. The day simply ends a little later.

  2. 02

    Step 2: 15 to 30 minutes late

Your braider may suggest smaller parts, a shorter length or fewer braids so the day still ends on time.

  3. 03

Step 3: More than 30 minutes late

We move you to another day, and your deposit holds it.

Hair you bring

Your hair, and the braiding hair you bring

Braids sit better on hair that starts washed, dry and stretched. And a pack in the wrong shade or the wrong count can end a day before it begins, so we check both before the day.

Before your day

  • Your hair arrives washed, fully dry and detangled, or you add a wash and blow-dry.

  • We tell you the shade and how many packs of braiding hair to bring, or we supply it.

  • Bring packs unopened, so your braider can check the shade against your plan.

  • Not sure it matches? Text a photo and we'll say yes or no before your day.
